A lot of things going on in the Tropics this weekend but very little that is going to affect the Cancun and Riviera Maya area of Mexico’s Caribbean. Lets start with the System farthest from Mexico and move to the closest areas of Cancun and Riviera Maya.
INVEST 93 out there more than a thousand miles from Mexico’s Coast (820 miles west of Cape Verde Islands) and moving along the same track as Colin did last week so I am not that worried about it and if for some reason it did decide to begin a westward movement we wouldn’t worry about it for at least a week so we will watch it for now. Conditions are slightly favorable for slow development of this system.
TROPICAL STORM COLIN is still hanging on there moving to the north 3º seems to be NO THREAT to the United States and Much less to Mexico. The storm barely hanging on with winds 40 mph / 65 kph with some higher gusts. These winds are confined to a small area southeast of the center. No significant change is expected today but there is still some potential for slight strengthening on Sunday but central pressure in Colin has risen to 1012 mb / 29.88 inches.
INVEST 92 in the Southwest Caribbean banging up against the coast of Belize and moving to the West Northwest has not gotten any more organized and will begin to move across the Yucatan Peninsula around the Area of Belize City and should emerge sometime Sunday around the Bay of Campeche. Chance of any development of the system in the Caribbean is 0% while over the next 48 hours there is a 10% chance of development.
TROPICAL STORM ESTELLE in the Pacific off the coast of Guerrero moving to the West Northwest 15 miles per hour (moving away from the coast of Mexico) bringing rain, wind and high tides to the Coastal area of Colima, Guerrero, Jalisco and Nayarit during the day today and tonight, Convection from the same Tropical Storm as well as the system of disorganized showers and thundershowers has Severe Storm Warnings in Effect for Chiapas and Oaxaca.
