Cancun – Riviera Maya Weather July 31, 2010

Another beautiful day today here in Cancun and The Riviera Maya after, Sunny, Hot and Humid is still on the menu for today with temperatures reaching in to the Mid 90′s F / 30′s C from time to time we will enjoy some scattered clouds around the area but nothing that will likely give us any rain until maybe the overnight when we have a chance of those overnight showers again but nothing that is going to cool down the temperatures over the weekend.

 

Still Raining in the Northwest of Mexico but the area along the Gulf coast of Veracruz, Campeche, Tabasco and Yucatan is cleared up and our area looking really good today. The Pacific Coast of Chiapas has cloudy skies with rain and thunderstorms heavy at times as a result of Low Pressure off the coast of Chiapas and Oaxaca and in the caribbean we are seeing some shower activity ahead of Tropical Wave 19 which is now in the southwestern Caribbean moving quickly (45 kph). thunderstorms to the area from the Lesser Antilles to Colombia and Venezuela. As the Tropical Wave 19 bumps into the Yucatan Peninsula today quite south of our area it will continue to bring rain heavy at times to areas of Central America and Northern South America, currently from around Costa Rica south into Colombia around Cartegena and Barranquila it is raining heavy at times with some thunderstorm activity as well.

 

Off to the east of Tropical Storm 19 we are watching Tropical Storm 20 which is also following the path of 19 so little to worry about at this time as far as rain and storms for the Cancun to Riviera Maya areas of Mexico but as these Tropical Waves cross over Central America into the Pacific they will bring lots of rain to the coastal areas of Chiapas and Oaxaca as usual.

Weather Outlook for Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and The Riviera Maya.

While Tropical Storm 19 is in front of the Southern Yucatan Peninsula moving quickly to the west anxious to cross Central America and get into the warm Pacific Water Tropical Wave 20 is around the area of Puerto Rico extending south past the ABC islands and also moving west.  Conditions in the Tropical Atlantic and Caribbean are only slightly favorable for development into a tropical event over the next couple of days.  At the same time we are still keeping an eye on INVEST 90 out there in the Tropical Atlantic behind TW20, most computer models have INVEST 90 moving along the same path as Bonnie across the southeast tip of Puerto Rico and maintaining a path on the east of Cuba and heading towards the same area of Florida as Bonnie but that is many days away to call.  For our area today and tomorrow beautiful weather, sunny, hot and humid, yes I said it before if you are going out there to start that tan or doing activities in the sun or just walking around, SUNBLOCK…
