While Saturday didn’t turn out as bad as it looked the day did remain cloudy all day with very few rays breaking through and of course we experienced scattered areas of rain and thunderstorms even into the evening but no steady rain that kept us off the beaches.
Today, Sunday June 13, 2010 we can expect partly cloudy skies in general with a chance of rain for most of area of Tulum north along the coast to Cancun including the islands of Cozumel and Isla Mujeres. The wind calm and temperatures in the 80′s and humidity around 85% making it feel like it is in the mid to upper 90′s. The southern area of Quintana Roo or Mexicos Southern Caribbean Coast from Chetumal to Punta Allen today can still experience severe storm activity in the way of torential rain or severe thunderstorms from the remnants of Tropical Wave #5.

Long Term Outlook: Looking at the satellite images currently the caribbean looks clear for the next 5 days with conditions NOT favorable for development of tropical systems here. The US Navy is looking at an area of disturbed weather coming off the coast of West Africa INVEST 92L which is a long way from arriving to Mexicos Caribbean but for those who are traveling 10 days from now keep an eye to the east.
