Playa Del Carmen Weather Including Cancun – Riviera Maya

Cancun and Riviera Maya Weather for July 16, 2010 including Puerto Morelos, Playa Del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, Tulum and the Islands of Cozumel and Isla Mujeres.

Weather Discussion:

Today started out as a beautiful day and as promised turned into a HOT and HUMID day with temperatures 95° F / 35° C before some afternoon showers came in and starting cooling things down.  Showers were isolated to Southern Riviera Maya with a well defined line from around Xcaret south through Akumal and Tulum.  Showers were not constant but some seriously cloudy weather prevailed over that same area while Cancun and Northern Riviera Maya remained partly cloudy and dry.

The “Trough” that was affecting the area yesterday that should have moved on late yesterday didn’t move out as fast or far as I thought so we were still getting the affects today.  Currently since yesterday we have 2 particular areas of concern for Mexicos Caribbean Coast.  3 Low Pressure areas one out of our area near Louisiana which will not affect us but 2 others which can affect us in the way of some clouds and rain tomorrow (Saturday) for those of you leaving Saturday it could be a wet end of your week, if you are arriving it could be a day that you will check out some shopping or what have you.

The Three “B’s” (3 low pressure systems)  that we are watching and you see here on the Graphic  B1 is close to the Louisiana coast and moving toward land, B2 is on the Caribbean side of Central America and moving to the Northwest and will cross into the area of  Belize and cross land from around Belize / Chetumal out to the Gulf of Mexico and B3 is on the Pacific site of Central America affecting the coastal areas of Chiapas and Oaxaca.  Currently NO stations in Mexico are reporting Rain but most of the southeast is overcast as is the pacific coast area of Mexico from Chiapas to Acapulco.  Our Cancun Weather Radar is showing some shower activity due east of Cozumel some 150 miles off the coast.

2 tropical Waves still haunt the Tropical Atlantic moving west toward the coast of South America but still are a week away from arriving near Mexico.
Tropical Depression 6E in the pacific and moving away from Mexico currently not affecting Mexico.
